Biografia[modifica]
Diplomatasi nel 1989 presso la Rubin Academy High School of Dance and Music di Gerusalemme, Elinor Carucci entra direttamente a far parte delle forze armate israeliane per due anni fino al 1991. Nel 1995 si laurea in fotografia presso l'Accademia di belle arti Bezalel per poi trasferirsi a New York, dove vive tuttora con il marito e i suoi due figli.
Il suo lavoro fotografico è per lo più basato sulla propria sfera personale, ma con l'obiettivo di trovare un significato universale. Le sue fotografie rispecchiano quello che è l'ambiente familiare tra le mura domestiche ma anche quella della messinscena. Per il suo lavoro si ispira soprattutto a Nan Goldin e Sally Mann, come specificato in un articolo di American Art News pubblicato nel novembre 2006.
